Vox Hunt: Skull-n-Crossbones

Creepy...
[this is good]

Hi, saw your post from the Vox hunt yesterday. :)

The article accompanying this picture can be found here. The picture above is of the founders of the Order of the Book and Snake, a secret society at Yale.

I was actually curious enough to search for this information (the link you gave was crucial, by the way). Clearly, I have no life too (and it's early morning here!).

I wish Vox had a 'comment editing' feature.

To add:

* More information on the Book and Snake here.

* Whose skull might that be? I guess we'll never know.

Wow, this is really interesting. Thanks for searching and finding this! We had a couple really cool secret societies at my university, but coming across one via a vox hunt is pretty neat.

Bonus points for doing the extra research beyond the infowars site :-)

No problem. :) I love researching stuff!

Wow, you had cool secret societies at your university? There are organizations with ties to underground movements at mine, but secret societies? None, but I probably haven't heard of them, even via rumors / hearsay.

Love the bonus points. ^^

Yeah, they're not so secret anymore in terms of what the organizations are, and what they stand for, but the members are mostly unknown (unless you're one of them) while they're at school. One time in my 4th year, I delivered pizza to an IMP society party (more about this in an upcoming post, it's a great story). Half the people were dressed up in various devil costumes, and I recognized about 3 friends and 15 classmates of mine that I had never known were in the society.

For more info, check out the UVA wikipedia article here. Look under the "Student Life" section for the paragraph on secret societies. Each is listed along with links to their own pages with a little more info. Some are pretty interesting, including the 7 society, where membership is only revealed upon the death of the member.

Thanks for posting the link. Your university is quite cool. :) 7 Society is very mysterious, indeed, and really fascinating.

This amused me :) :
